TIMBER HARVESTING & SPHN
We can identify areas within your woodland which are suitable for a thinning or clear-fell. We will then source suitable machinery and systems to undertake the operation which as suitable for your specific woodland conditions. The conditions that we will take into consideration are ground conditions, environmental factors, topography and water courses to name but a few.
We independently market your timber resulting from these harvesting operations which means we can obtain the best market price available. As a company we run a system that although we oversee all aspects of the marketing of the timber and securing the best price with the most reputable companies, all income resulting from these operations are paid to the client directly.
Forest and Land Management have been involved with the management of numerous harvesting operations of Phytophthora ramorum infected larch. This has resulted in the production of many thousands of tonnes of timber over the past 8 years. One recent operation resulted in over 3000 tonnes of timber. We are happy to manage these SPHN areas in whatever capacity the landowner requires. We offer services from total management from the marketing and management of the harvesting site, applications for a Countryside Stewardship Tree Health Restoration Grant, and finally for the organising and managing of the re-planting of these areas.
